Enjoy Yourself

You work and work for years and years. You're always on the go.
You never take a minute off, you're too busy makin' dough.
Some day, you say, you'll have your fun when you're a millionaire.
Imagine all the fun you'll have in your old rockin' chair,
so enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Enjoy yourself while you're still in the pink.
The years go by as quickly as you wink,
so enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Your heart of hearts, your dream of dreams your ravishing brunette
has left you now and she's become somebody else's pet.
Lay down that gun, don't try my friend to reach the great beyond.
You'll have more fun by reaching for a red-head or a blonde,
so enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Enjoy yourself while you're still in the pink.
The years go by as quickly as you wink.
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
You love somebody very much, you'd like to set the date,
but money doesn't grow on trees so you decide to wait.
You're so afraid that you will bite off more than you can chew.
Don't be afraid, you won't have teeth when you reach ninety two,
so enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Enjoy yourself while you're still in the pink
The years go by as quickly as you wink,
so enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
You never visit nightclubs so you never get a dance.
You don't have time for silly things like moonlight and romance.
You only think of dollar bills tied neatly in a stack,
but when you kiss a dollar bill it doesn't kiss you back,
so enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Enjoy yourself while you're still in the pink.
The years go by as quickly as you wink,
so enjoy, enjoy, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.
Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy Yourself! It's later than you think.

IT WAS A SETUP

IT WAS A SETUP

In the beginning the was word
And the word became flesh
It was a setup! When a virgin was with a child
And the little child shall lead them.

Et tu, Brute? Et tu, Brute?
In exchange of your brothers blood for the kisses of death? Oh! Judas!
Is that your brothers blood in your hands, oh! Simone Peter?
Betrayal is deeper than a cut in flesh itself.

"Let him be crucified" they said.
In brutality they forced crown of thorns on his head
Knowing not it was a prediction
It was a setup!

Untransformed minds mocked him,
bowed and knee before him
Saying " Hail King of the Jews"
Knowing not the power of the tongue
It was a setup!

he dug his own grave
Creating the weapon
To kill the anointed
It was a setup!

They should have bound his arms behind,
Instead they crossed him, drank from the cup of confusion.
Bones crossed grievously,
Flesh ripped and blood pouring like water
To conquer, heal and to save children of God, they miscounted
It was a setup!

Eli, Eli, Lama sabachthani?
The Father groans for His only begotten son
for he knew no sin hence became a sin
For so He loved the world.
" it is finished "

The mouth of Sheol, swallowed him rejoicing
"You bite off more than you can chew"
Grave couldn't contain him for He has been crowned.
It was a setup!

The Dragon and the Unicorn

One day Diaz the Dragon was hungry, but too tired to hunt
"Hmm, what's good to eat, I've already had a lamb, but he was a runt!"
In the woods he spied, Alessandra the unicorn. "Hmm," thought he,
"Why if I ate her, I'd have the strength of three!"
But how to lure her in, close enough for his paws?
"I've got it! Why she'll step right into my jaws!"
He laid near her drinking spot with a groan.
"Oh dear, have you a spare eye to loan?
See, I've had too many sweets and treats
I've not got much stomach for meats."
She laughed, "Why it seems sir, I understand the gravity,
you've gone and given yourself a cavity."
"Would you be so kind as to look?
Here, stand in my mouth by that tooth with a crook!"
And she did. Diaz snapped shut his mouth,
But instead of her, he caught her horn with a shout!
"Ha!" said Alessandra the unicorn. "That'll teach you!"
"Never bite off more than you can chew!"

--------------
I was going through an old notebook this morning and found this gem. So I typed it up and edited it quite a bit. And by quite a bit, I mean, I kept the plot intact.....
Hope you enjoy.

Moving Your Metatarsals

Moving Your Metatarsals

This is dedicated to Julia Ward
Unsure of where poetry ship is moored.

Distinctly from every ones due accord
We are looking forward to reading Ward
Who has been known as new creator
Of what we call the jovial Julia navigator.

Look forward to having her poems around
Read them and end up becoming spellbound
By each and every intricate item she will write
Tasted like steak and out of want to take a bite.

Never need to bite off more than you can chew
And without further adieu there are a few
Of her profound poems issued out in parcels
To access better start moving your metatarsals.

No Cross surrogate

Such is your 'No' phobia, you repeatedly bite off more than you can chew
Stuck as a broken record on yes, you agree to things you don't want to do
sign up for things you hate

Such is your 'No' phobia, you vote no to the life you want
and vote yes to the life you dread
foregoing your power to others..... bearing their crosses
Uncustomised for surrogacey....feathering their nests while yours
     lies in tatters

Such is your 'No' phobia, you think it's a swear word
left you lawless and no boundaries - gained you nothing
     but users, takers and abusers

A yesaholic in need of a 12 step program
     'yes', yourself made titanic
sinking rapidly, but for a 911 sea rescue to change course
