Best Anniversaryday Poems
Seventeen years to the day we said "I will" and started this journey thats called our love,
seamed as if it was just yesterday we danced for the first time as husband and wife
as we looked into each others eyes with the promises of what we share today.
true love,
our more then a full life
and these moments that we share today.
you could look at the pictures of that day and see how in love with each other we were,
our paths to that time released left behind and forgotten to make room for a new
a place many never seen even in our eyes a love many share and many know.
look at her,
do you think she knew
how much this love our love would grow.
I didn't see it and to be honest I didn't think it either...what we have,
how that moment turned into the most important thing in my life
the love in that picture is a shell of the love we share today.
grateful for what I have,
truly thankful for my life
and blessed to be with you today.
Happy Anniversary to one of the most beautiful person in the world,
I hope you always know just how wonderful you are
and how much you mean to me
thank you for all you do.
Love me.
Today is a very special day in my contented life.
I've been married 58 years to the very same wife!
I reckon some folks think that incredible in this day and age,
'Specially since fleeting relationships seem to be all the rage!
At Perrin Air Force Base in Texas was where we were hitched.
From that blissful day 'til now my life has been enriched!
We've had our share of laughter, tears and the vicissitudes of life,
But we vowed we'd always see it through as caring man and wife!
We were blessed with three precious kids who brought us so much joy,
Though we were saddened at the loss of Mark, our darling baby boy.
We were further blessed with 6 grandkids and 3 greats who bring us pleasure.
Though I possess little of this world's pelf, I consider each of them my treasure!
My dear Vera was so supportive as I pursued my military career.
She served her nation as well as we moved about this wonderous sphere!
Looking forward to the next assignment, she was always full of cheer.
Lord knows I couldn't have done it without her - she was always near!
I've been honored with many laurels, titles and certificates to be had,
But the titles I cherish the most are husband, grandfather and dad!
When I reach the end of the trail and will have completed my earthly quest,
With my very last breath I can thankfully say, I was truly, truly blessed!

All day I stared at the blank world
And could not tell
The words invisible in my hell
I waited for the sounds of emergency
The blinking eyes and flashing red
The petals crushed upon the ground
I waited in vain
Excoriated by pain
Carrying the debris in my brain
Of great structures of falsity
Crushing indescriminately the workers
Of Chrysler, GM and the hollow economy
Splintering their dreams
Into shards unjubilant
And I could not understand the world
Without smoke
The silence of the mighty Pele
The river a toxic brown not red
And this is May
So marginal to the memory
The horror that workers saw
When they begged justice for bread
What May is this
That does not cry everywhere
For workers and their leaders dead?
All day only my pen
Dared march the white edge of history
The fragrance of teargas
The fumes of petals crushed
Under the boots of my poetry.
All day they invented a virus
To scare the world inside
But I am a steel man
And bring no flowers to the deal.
You are little,
and growing bigger,
that is what this day is all about,
you have to know this,
and you know this well,
you are a beauty,
and growing more so,
you have to know this,
and you do know,
that is what this day is all about,
you are already dear to us,
and growing dearer.
you have to know this,
and you know this,
that is what this day is all about,
how i pine to see you grow and beautiful,
my dear little one,
only I know,
and through this day,
let you also know.
