Fifty-Eight Years Today!
Today is a very special day in my contented life. I've been married 58 years to the very same wife! I reckon some folks think that incredible in this day and age, 'Specially since fleeting relationships seem to be all the rage! At Perrin Air Force Base in Texas was where we were hitched. From that blissful day 'til now my life has been enriched! We've had our share of laughter, tears and the vicissitudes of life, But we vowed we'd always see it through as caring man and wife! We were blessed with three precious kids who brought us so much joy, Though we were saddened at the loss of Mark, our darling baby boy. We were further blessed with 6 grandkids and 3 greats who bring us pleasure. Though I possess little of this world's pelf, I consider each of them my treasure! My dear Vera was so supportive as I pursued my military career. She served her nation as well as we moved about this wonderous sphere! Looking forward to the next assignment, she was always full of cheer. Lord knows I couldn't have done it without her - she was always near! I've been honored with many laurels, titles and certificates to be had, But the titles I cherish the most are husband, grandfather and dad! When I reach the end of the trail and will have completed my earthly quest, With my very last breath I can thankfully say, I was truly, truly blessed! Robert L.
