Premium Member Pie In the Sky - Dedicated To Andrea Deitrich

guided streams of bright lights few squeeze through a crystal tight sky
colours this nature scene brand new a freshly baked pumpkin spiced pie

a random popsicle purple glaze
a toddler's finger painted blaze

the friendliest of all the river trees
dances calmly with a random breeze

the sun dives into his liquid bronze fate
as the wild plants wave back to placate

daily harmony here come with ease
while humans struggle just to appease

Premium Member Happy Birthday, Andrea

How Poetry Began, such plots you tell!
A Tale Of Fire And Ice you wrote so well
Poor Peter Pumpkin bid a sad adieu
Pink Cherry Blossoms was your first haiku
You Echo, Silent Still - love's dream come true.

Bright Eyes plays violin with sweet refrain
It Matters Not, a lovely swap quatrain
Rock Turtles - monoku criteria
The Wintered Soul Among Wisteria
Hidden Beauty - bittersweet rondeau
Dear Juliet waits for her Romeo
And Then Are Times in 'Six Days of Sistine'
Yesterday's Joys, a quatern most pristine.

At Winter's End, a triolet of spring
Night, A Pantoum Lullaby to sing
Destiny, so dark; more painfully:
Reflecting on Police Brutality
Each Little Drop of Rain I See goes 'plink'
An Empty Tissue Box in tear-stained ink.

Dogs and Cats, of these you often write
In Strangler's Wood, those shadows quake at night
Eternal Breath, for one who died too soon
This Night you're floating under stars and moon
Revelation In the Rain, poor her!
I'm Huck - that's right, the novel character
Cinder Girl, burned badly by a boy
Happy birthday, Andrea - enjoy!

September 5th:

Andrea

A sweet ray of sun on an autumn breeze
Nestled amongst arms in nature's way
Dreaming dreams and living scenes
Right in front of our very eyes
Etching out lasting memories
And uncovering endless possibilities

Happy birthday Andrea!!
You are truly a gift to us.

Three dozen Roses, Red ,Yellow and White
To show my affection for POETIC insight
Her Quilled POETRY : Inspirations; ignite
The Pen in my hand as I write through the night

When words from her Heart, in a new POEM appear
I read it twice over 'til message is clear
The image so vivid as Roses "Pure" White
My mind carries her words in Dreams through the night

I wake up refreshed, with a pen in my hand
Thank-YOU Andrea Dietrich; I now understand
I will shout to the World; throughout the whole land
With a feeble Tribute to make YOU feel Grand

As my pen tries to emulate YOUR Talented Quill
Roses for Andrea and Her POETRY skill

Her words flow like glorious music
In perfect time.
Her sonnets gift us with special words
In lovely rhyme.
A lady with the kind of style that
Epitomizes the beauty and grace
With the countenance of
A glowing poet’s face.
Brilliant words filled with imagery and emotion
Her poetry cannot help but inspire
Other growing poets with
A yearning desire.
Andrea is always right there
As she sets the best example of poetry
With outstanding grammar,
She teaches endlessly.
Andrea is my finest friend and confidant.
We who are blessed to read her poetry
Are enlightened by her symbiotic words
In perfect harmony.

Dedication To Two Very Special Women Andrea and Anne Lise

DEDICATION TO TWO VERY SPECIAL WOMEN

I'm writing this poem with pure dedication
To two very special women upon this fine day,
Andrea Dietrich and Anne Lise Andresen your beauty
is like a quaint fascination of pure devotion.
If it weren't for people like you, I would have left long ago,
Andrea you showed me great strength comes internally
I know,
Anne Lise you have a graceful flair with an inner honesty so rare
You showed me and talked to me when I needed someone to
really care.
Weeks ago it seems, thought I was at a real time, time, low, low.
But in realities view, knew deep in my heart of this you do know
You're two very beautiful women who made me face up to my
inner demons.
Now I truly know, I'm still in love with my Grizzly Adams,
Andrea and Anne Lise, hope we'll always be friends
For I'm dedicating this poem to two very intelligent beautiful women.
I no longer have had no inner bad vibrations.
I'm writing this poem with pure happiness and true heartfelt dedication
To two of the very best and special women upon this glorious day,
Andrea and Anne Lise your beauty is like a flowering devotion
I'm really counting my blessings for I'm utterly thankful beyond my emotions.

Premium Member Andrea Dietrich Has Finally Come Out of the Closet

She went into the closet one day
But what a high price she did pay

Her hubby he wanted a cuddle
But this act soon burst their bubble

The door of the closet shut fast
His ardour was a thing of the past

Their claustrophobia was getting worse
So Andrea checked in her old purse

She found an old credit card
Joe picked the lock, which was hard

After 20 minutes they were free
The relief on their face plain to see

Take heed - next time you are after a ‘screw’
Make sure the door doesn’t close on you!

Over The Horizon, Dedicated To Andrea

Beyond normal sight and imagination
Tho' perhaps a dear new sensation.
Hidden rainbows kiss blue skies
shall we issue cries?
Love begs not
Lies
to thus blot
out what truth decries
as life's greedy little tries
to dismiss such new titillations.
Beyond normal sight and imagination.

Premium Member Life According To Andrea

The Life Savor (my favored title!)

Life
is to
be enjoyed.
Yes, we must work,
but we can strive for
jobs that will fulfill us.
We have obligations, but
sacrifice should not consume us.
We must find balance in all we do.
Give of yourself but pamper yourself too!
They say it’s good to dream big, but be real.
Develop your God-given talents,
but let go of too lofty dreams
if they only bring you stress.
It behooves not just you,
but your loved ones too
when you feel good,
so learn to
savor
life!

Premium Member A Cameo Appearance By Andrea Dietrich

It was not the mountains.. those that dwarf us,
the forests that invited our senses...seduced us to stay.
Nor the oceans whose mass we contained within us,
creatures small and large...some we loved and others feared.

Not,
the floating rain, the clouds...kind or angry,
the sky bright or blackboard black,
the falling leaves or those who held on tight,
the multiverse of colors sharp or flat.

NOT...the seasons that in all their glory arrived
or stepped away as their sister or brother took the stage.
Every inch of our untouched world chants to our sensibilities,
the perfect candidate to rule our internal domain.

Life in its all knowing way
has always bestowed us with gifts,
unfolded miracles in our wake,
other times challenged us in a rage.

Our world would take an eon to notate.

Not,
those particles...each made the whole,
stirred our voices...drew from us...song.

We,
are only messengers.

Our words not our own.

Some call it passion, others magic, they also call it art.
Some suggest it comes from the heart.
Whatever you call it, this mystical harbinger
who through us communicates...

it is he, she, responsible for what we loosely term art.
Poetry like all the arts...never began as such...
rather it is integral to just being.

IT is US...

just ask the lady with the pen and pad
writing while driving her car...

it is a part of our existence
...it has always been.

poets would write,
even...
if they lived in a vacuum.

Premium Member Andrea Sonneteer

I had wanted to celebrate Andrea Dietrich’s special birthday with a tribute poem. She celebrated reaching that age of retirement many long for. At the time I was dealing with the loss of my son and the hospitalization of my stepson who was gravely ill and her birthday, September 5th, passed me by. Now that I am in a much better place I wrote this sonnet to give her a belated birthday gift. We have been friends for over twenty years. We met through our love of poetry.
Happy Belated Birthday dear Andrea.

Andrea Sonneteer

Poetess, your light shines brighter each year.
You teach your students with a stellar touch
With pride in your profession it is clear.
In their minds you instill and inspire much.

As an editor and author you give
Generously of your wisdom and time,
Sharing your knowledge in ways that you live.
Your gourmet delights you share are sublime.

Your love of traveling always shines through
Exquisite imagery, your creations
Are romantic and dreamy it is true,
Your poetry exceeds expectations.

This humble sonnet I’ve written for you
To wish you the best of birthdays come true.

Coffee Not Tea For Andrea,Carolyn and Linda-Marie

Coffee not Tea for Andrea,Carolyn and Linda-Marie

Come on ladies pull out a chair and have a seat.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and sugar makes it sweet.

A friendly conversation and a cup of joe.
To ask about my fellow poets who I hardly know.

We didn't dress fancy or pretty up our hair.
Told one another about things we needed to share.

There are things in life women need to say.
Sometimes in troubles we ask our friends to pray.

So Andrea,Carolyn or Linda-Marie.
If you need a cup of java remember me.

For Andrea Dietrich

She took the lay of the land
Which lie before my face
West of where fathers lie
Lying there in their silent space
She understood my silence
In this tongue, the virus
That canceled my own, lain
Forgotten in the brain
I shall lie if I say I trust
Another voice beyond her eminence
Her authority gives confidence
That in her much more lies
Waiting to be laid upon my eye
She is magnificent
With tongue and fruit of word.

Premium Member My Friend Andrea

Dedicated to my Friend, Andrea Dietrich

A blessing meant to materialize is how I define Andrea’s role in my life. Andrea is a bright light of warmth that I began to seek more and more as our personalities seamlessly bonded in fulfilling and meaningful ways. While we share the same continent, thousands of miles separate us that will eventually be conquered by the powers of friendship. I have told the universe that I insist on such! I will admit a slight fear; Andrea has an abundance of energy whereas I’m a napper who might fall face down trying to keep up with her. To me, Andrea is goodness personified. She has the heart of a caring teacher as I’ve learned when I’m baffled about Soup matters or other, for she instructs without even being asked. My friend is consistent, reliable, organized, committed to people and things she cares about. Andrea can be much too hard on herself for she is a perfectionist. As a writer, she is a talent whose well of creativity has no bottom but an endless stream of imagination that blesses everyone who reads her. In many ways, Andrea has an innocence that I find difficult to verbally discern though I am keenly aware of it and delightfully refreshed by it. In a world of business and family schedules and demands, I greatly admire Andrea for carving out niches where her individuality is nurtured and sated; she knows who she is. She is a genuine, individuated individual who truly seizes each day in her best grasp to live with her best effort. I love her very much.

she's always been good
i have colored outside lines ~
we bonded as friends
