Best Ada Poems
Agelessly beautiful and benevolent
Wise in the simplest of ways
“I’ve never been bored in my life”
She once said to me
Me, the definition of bored
She does not know this, but I do
They don’t see me as I see myself
I wish I could borrow her beautiful heart
Just for one day so I could learn
How exactly life is to be live
You are a gift

Here comes my beautiful Ada!
The flower of my youth
Elegant and sure footed
Poised to conquer the world
A gazelle of inestimable beauty
Resilient and full of
Joie de vivre and open heartedness
Ada no one is like you
And no one can ever be like you
You are beautifully and wonderfully made
Rise and lighten up global
Entertainment firmament
For the world is your oyster

This is a mistake!
A huge contretemps indeed!
A foul up of the most egregious kind!
You see, it wasn’t my time yet,
This death thing; I had things to do still.
I had places yet to visit I had never seen before.
I had strangers from distant locales to meet still,
I had a multitude of tomorrows yet,
or so I thought, having no doubt.
But now, here I am, dead as a doorstop,
At last with all the minions and the predecessors,
At last, all reconciled and made equal.
But you see, I was fine that day.
Thinking nothing tragic would happen to me.
Expecting another evening at home, with
Yet another morning to come, and waking up.
I tell you, I have been wronged!
This is the cruelest of mistakes!
Dear God almighty!
You took away my dream that day!
Robbed me of my perfumed interlude in the shadows,
It was all I ever wanted; just ten groping minutes,
Naked with my dream lover,
One Roscoe Settle, late of this citrus parish.
But the lights went out, instantly!
Inside my parents old house on North Pickering,
When my brain sprung a leak that day,
And I dropped dead at age 33.
A huge contretemps indeed!
A foul up of the most egregious kind!

JUST SEEING HER FOR ONE DAY MAKES MY WHOLE WEEK BETTER, I THANK GOD THAT SHE
IS IN MY LIFE, SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE WANTS, BUT I WILL GIVE HER WHAT SHE NEEDS,
HER LOVE IS ALL I WANT, AND I WILL GIVE HER ALL MY LOVE.......

Great Aunt Ada
not thought of her for years
she made me laugh
till I cried real tears
fascinated by her talk
never wanting her to go
her every sentence finished
with like and that you know
hidden under the table
her delicious visiting days
mentally counting
each use of her phrase
as she gossiped away
about him and her and so and so
just general village chat
like and that you know
hands over mouth
trying not to laugh aloud
as she chatted away
about the village crowd
such a nice old lady
with a conversational flow
and to emphasise each point
her like and that you know
I don't know why
she came back to mind
I reminisce a lot
these days I find
a horrible child
I hope she didn't know
how I writhed with joy
like and that you know
