Quote: Know your value. Confidence breeds success. Act like the person you want to become, and people will start seeing you as that person.
Mark M Ford
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Those who embrace, avid ambitions of heart,
To them shall the reigns of future belong;
From charted path of passion, they never part
For earnest is the promise treasured for long.

O, how they strive, aiming for heavenly skies,
Flexing audaciously to conquer higher highs,
Fixated on life’s goals with purposeful eyes,
Focused mindfully, primed to win the prize.

On might of confidence when achievers roar,
On strength of willpower their dreams soar
Employing fortitude resolutely brought to fore,
Sailing to shores, dreamt in travails of yore.

Glumness they defy of shroud and sorrow,
Planting seeds of hope in despair of woes,
Aspiring bright horizons on dawns of morrow
Overcoming hapless shadows cast in throes.

O, the doers and believers instinctively know,
Hurdled with failures is the road to success,
As they drive dreary nights to mornings aglow,
Fueled by aspirations, dreams revered possess.

Sweet Purpose

I have come to the point of decision
And I have decided in favour of love

Wisdom is not solely measured by experience
But more by capacity for it
I have glimpsed deep into history
I have sieved through its successes
...for the soundest advice I could find
Most profound I have received from the greatest achievers in its archives

I am a Student of Life
I am a Wordsmith of Optimism
And I am a Mason of the Castles of Dreams
This Trinity of Purpose for me goes hand in hand, side by side
Each benefits the other
Issue is, they set me apart from the others

Here I am, young when I should be intoxicated with the fads of modernity
Fortified with skills that are eager to pay the ordinary wages
But nay, I am not to be beleaguered
I focus ahead to perceive the greater rewards at the summation of days
For I place most value on the greatest wealth: WISDOM and HAPPINESS

I have come to the point of decision
And I have decided in favour of love

I choose to commit my heart entirely
To the work I love best
For it is this calling that shall liberate the sanctity of my humanity
The world I dwell in fathoms not a shred of my quest
For it views life through the lenses of reality

True as it may be that my work suffices not to endow me
...with common currency in these economic times
The rationale of my perception discerns far beyond this temporary mist

Let them roar their throats in laughter at my perceived stupidity
But it is their children and their children’s children that shall benefit most
...From this shelter of thoughts and dreams that for them I build

I expect no immediate remuneration for my onerous undertaking
For I rationalize it as a selfless gift to humanity
Hence I shall tap deep within to give all can give
I am determined to build this Shelter of Thoughts and Dreams
I have the basic skills hence I commit my willingness and ingenuity
The Good Gods shall present the mortar and bricks

The fear of failure has been permanently exiled from boarding my being
As my eyes are fixated on the prize
I am ready to pay the price

An odyssey through hurdles, yet a blessing it is to dwell on earth,
Aiming for destination beloved, chasing sweet dreams of mirth,
Through successes and failures, amid joys and woes, since birth,
Life can be hurricanes and storms, but living it justifies its worth.

Sometimes life beams with hope, sometimes despairs in throes,
Navigating peaks and troughs, undulating with highs and lows,
Yet, unyielding to reign of angst, life rejects doldrums of sorrow,
Aspiring boldly to sunny horizons, hosting endeavors of morrow.

Life, a realm of virtues divine, resounding endearment of love,
A benediction, an endowment, a gift from the heavens above;
Its paradigms and precepts reverberate from temple of soul,
Echoing sapience of enlightenment, teachings paramount toll.

On strength of sheer endurance, aspirations of dreamers soar,
Flexing willpower of ambitions, resolutely they bring to fore,
As life rewards strenuous efforts, striving for its worthy goal,
Fulfilling purpose of tomorrow, triumphs of achievers extol.

Life toddles, stumbles and falls, enduring as it learns to walk,
It stutters, it babbles thoughts, yet persists as it learns to talk,
Cognizant over time, sorting good from bad, right from wrong,
Obeying tenets of morals and values, guiding humanity lifelong.

As memories scatter in echoes of laughter. I recall childhood dreams now lost among old trees. Hope once ran free and wild, but now I just feel tired. A playground of conflicts, which no longer exists. Sharp slides, see-saws and swings, where we fought with bare fists. They built posh apartments, dull, ugly and heartless. We weren't high achievers, as we had bad teachers. Now our school's a care home, where many die alone. But the graveyard is full, whilst the church seems obscure. The shop where we bought sweets - a homeless man now sleeps. Some say it's the owner, who became a loner. Closure meant he lost trade, became bankrupt, but stayed. Streets look so untidy, faces that seem shady. Homes are in disrepair, life seems a bit unfair. Time is abrupt with change, but reflections remain. Even when we move on, we think of life foregone. Your past is what your breathe, no matter where you reach.

Looking To My Future

Being mindful of my own roots as a Filipino,
with episodes of successes and failures,
with mirror images of my own culture,
show a sliver of commonality with others
as raised in accordance with Catholic religion.

Beauty in the heart remains a focal point
a criterion that captures a specific connection;
to the highest level – God with people of all nations,
an ongoing conversation between faith and culture.

But with the emerging trend in our civilization,
heroes for youth, sports figures or popular icons
are role models for them with a great deal of competition,
yet, opportunities to strive better and be achievers of honor.

Understanding the mystery of life through faith and trust
in God, whose source of love and compassion never ends;
A lodestar in my way, source of hope and spiritual joy.
King Solomon’s teaching enables me to recall
that some of our greatest actions come only -
because we fall and this makes us grow,
connect with Him and face what life brings.

As we used to say in Philosophy:
«nemo dat quod non haber»
indeed, a challenge that, for me, should be lived
along with enthusiasm and commitment to life.

The world in its movement greets every traveler,
with different salutations meant to inspire him
that in spite of a decadent age or conflicting moral answers,
God’s presence never fails to make us aligned to His own will.

It’s with an attitude of optimism that I hangs on to Him
because He is the way, the truth, the life, and everything,
His authorship and genuineness to any need in life’s quest;
He’s my great spiritual achievement, a future for my calling.

The Olympics : Faster Than the Fastest

Fastest,Highest and Strongest a moment’s story,
Citius ,Altius ,Forius – a better story of Olympic glory.
Bolt ,Ukhov and Hafez the greatest of achievers
Are only miniature images in the Olympic rings.

March of Athens to London-2012 is over
Yet for another  city the  torch to  twitter;
Track and pace exploring new horizons
Faster,Higher and Stronger as solutions.

The colours of all nations closely intertwine ,
Nations fall ,nations rise,the glories only shine;
Olympics preaches the dignity of participation
Run jump and lift to make life a competition .

Nobody is the strongest only stronger prevails ,
Nobody is the fastest , time better unveils .21.08.2012

alone inside with me, less than inspirational

so look out for the more interesting folk

  momentary excitement, the fiery motivational

beyond the familiar, to stoke and provoke

  daydream departure from mundane conversational

adventures cocooned in my warm cosy cloak

cool charismatic characters, charming skills to admire

the wily wheelers, the dubious dealers

the mighty movers, the shuffling shakers, to these I aspire

delvers of science, the body-mind healers

frisky purveyors of seduction spray fuel to the fire

risky game chancers, the common sense stealers

suspenders of disbelief, poetic weavers of word

  jovial jugglers of juxtaposition

addicted acquisitors, spinners shifting the absurd

  fabulous fakers, deceptive magician

image presenters, dark or backlit, focused or blurred

  sculptors of form, instrumental musician

composers of melody, glorious singers of song

whatever the stage, great performers of art

  athletic achievers stretching stubbornly strong

rhythmic dynamo dancers moving close or apart

food-feeding salivators, their tasty pleasures prolong

delightful set dishes or delicious a la carte

whether imbibed on its own or in good company enjoyed

the brewer, the vintner, the masters of malt

innovative designers, architects of structure and void

  the philosopher's stone, comfort-zone assault

insightful free thinkers, long-held paradigms destroyed

tall storytelling teachers without fear of fault

mathematical manipulators of numbers and code

quantum diving or high-flying to the stars

engineering fabricators, tunnel, bridge, rail and road

  crazy drivers and loop-turning avatars

tinkering technicians, ecologists with wisdom bestowed

planners of protest, the remover of scars

inspirational givers, those with just the skill of their bent

empathy crossing over to be by your side

the meek, the afflicted, those who can ill-afford the rent

the refugee fleer from our wars worldwide

safety seekers, brave rational people with lives to augment

as we build indifferent walls... hope denied!

The Same Blue Collar Guy

The work I do is not the most prestigious one,
from four to twelve thirty I drive...until my shift is done;
a forklift driver rarely takes a coffee-break,
and being courteous and helpful to customers means a lot.

My long-life dream was to be a songwriter like Andrew Lloyd Webber, but my songs
didn't click...they never made the Top Ten on the Billboard Charts;
and although they didn't sell well to make it my profession, I still hold my thumb up...
that if a famous recording artist performed them, I'd have a huge hit!

My free time is devoted to creating lyrics that I will set to music in late hours;
and I would never be a Mozart, Verdi, or Beethoven if didn't knock on doors
and expose my works to those who would be willing to listen without reluctance...
could one be old and succeed as the young ones with fresher, brighter ideas?

For now, I remain the same blue collar guy coloring more illusive dreams;
many approach me and say," Don't give up...you have plenty of chances!".
I do want to believe that and wear the deserved crown and be lauded as others...
'till my lucky day comes, I must make a living and have the faith of the achievers.

The Last Days

If nowadays we have become so wise
And are proud achievers
Who have explored the world from our cradle;
If these days men would hear with their eyes
And men would speak by their actions
And would prefer to reason with their flesh;
If today you see chicken gnaw bones
And billy hunt and prey on rodents,
Do not stand to stare or wonder,
For these are the last days!

When a day's old child would stare,
When teens have now become bachelors;
When at twelve you have known
Men and women and fulfil God's injunction
To procreate and litter the earth with waifs.
If at twenty six your name goes
With the scholastic print of Ph. D.
And when at thirty sitting at your verandah
Having coloured teeth from tobacco and kola.
What else are you waiting for my friend?
Do not wait on what the earth has to offer,
Prepare your bed and die,
For these are the last days!

If nowadays we have become so wise,
If today we are proud achievers,
We are like the young child, Umu,
Who sighted a ripe mango amidst dozens
Of unripe mangoes up in the tree.
He detest the burden of climbing
And would never think of waiting
For the mango to fall to the ground.
In his excitement, he pulled up the young stalk
Of a healthy peer tree and
Threw it up at the mango tree.
He threw it up again and again and before
He could struck down the one ripe mango,
He had plucked and emptied dozens
Of unripe mangoes to the earth.
He picked the one ripe mango
Among the others and left in triumph!

If nowadays we have become so wise,
If today we are proud achievers,
When an infant would reject
His mother's breast because he has no time,
Do not stand to ask why or wonder,
For these are the last days
That shall give birth to a new era!

Premium Member Brian William Haw

Brian William Haw stood strong
He never quit his whole life long
His principles oozed forth peace
He strongly believed that he wasn't wrong

Brian's life was influenced
By his dad's suicide incident
After serving in the war
Brian now for peace convinced

As a Christian believer
Haw worked with young non-achievers
Troubled youth who needed change
So that society not griever

He soon began his campaign
One man political reign
A political protest
For his children's future domain

He was supported by some
Many saw him as just dumb
Friends of his cause fed him
Parliament gave him a down thumb

Parliament did not like his scene
Nothing tried stopped the routine
Arrest, court dates didn't slow
He survived on poor cuisine

His protest only by death ceased
Lung cancer his life did seize
Tobacco the enemy beast
Soon from this life gave release

A Teacher

A teacher is like an angel…
With a caring heart, serve as our
role model
Impart us knowledge, ladder to
the height…
Enlightens our thoughts like a
guiding light.
They impart us their principle
Scribble intellect and good
example
We can see them laugh and
sometimes frown
Corrected us when we went
wrong.
They are so patient to handle all
the noise
Nice and kind, wanted to hear all
our voice
Get mad when caught someone
cheating n
class
Because wanted everyone to learn
and pass.
We are moulded and shaped by
our teachers
So that someday we’ll become
great achievers
They enlighten the depths of our
being…
That’s why they are all worth
remembering.

The Gifted Talent

“THE GIFT” controls my mind
which controls my ways of thinking
“outside of the box”…
Literally speaking my conscious lends my body
“a helping hand”
Success It demands so introducing talent
Showing you my writer’s hand
I “wrote off” the word recession
from political depression…
You had me for a second….L…O…L!
I’m not fallin’ off that bridge
That’s for second hand believers
“ACHIEVEMENT!”
CALLING ALL ACHIEVERS!!!
Achievement lives through-out
My spirits of my mind, body, and soul…
Inspiring the inspiring
“THE GIFT” continues to control.

The Silent Ones

The Silent Ones

We need to
look around to see
what is out there
besides our oversized egos.

All of us
expects everyone else
to congratulate ourselves
on the minute achievements.

However, there are some people
who need the congratulations.
They work so hard on an achievement.
They put blood and sweat—
maybe tears into it.

We need to look for them
because that
there aren't many of
those kind of achievers any longer.

A Matter of Hate

From black-board to projectors,
the education system has never been diaphanous.
Everything has changed with brevity,
still it remains detrimental to the knowledge society.

Being a denizen to the library, come across a lot many books
Seldom , i am agaped to see good ones never issued.
The book- worm students are omnipresent
However, low cognizance won’t make them complacent.
Desultory transactions lead only to poor denouments
Earth - worm teachers are the true social rodents.

Doctors need memorising tricks , engineers do need the same
Ministers need criminal record and saints like ... need to shame.
Originality has lost it’s credentials and xerox at it’s peak
Marks are over – emphasized engulfed with the knowledge – leak.

Didactic achievers don’t serve their country
They feel better to opt out of this unholy treachery.
Demagogues rule the roost in decision making,
Playing with our future through delusive risk –taking.
Their deranged behaviour denigrates the country’s status
Still every word they utter is given high impetus.

Concave curriculum , blighted minds
Our education system is the worst of it’s own kind.
Efficient cheating and mal- practice makes a man great
Hard - work and sincerity makes a matter of hate.

Rapture

In the eastern sky, we will fly up high.

the elect to see, the great jubilee.

Giant tables of food, marriage supper to conclude,

the sea of glass, throne of God alas.

Thousands of believers, crowns for achievers,

our savior to share, the army to prepare.
