Quack

I had a little finch
as quiet as could be.
He was rather lonely
so an idea came to me.

I'd get him some roommates
to talk to through the day.
I bought two Zebra Finches
so he'd have friends to play.

My Bengalese Finch is quiet.
He never makes a sound,
but now the strangest noises
I'm hearing all around.

One of the new finches
sounds just like a duck.
When I try to see which one
I'm just out of luck.

As soon as they see me
the noises stop, you see.
So which finch thinks he's a duck
is truly baffling me.

I'm sure the neighbours think
a duck is living here.
He's very quiet if I'm in sight,
when I'm not, he's loud and clear.

So a quacking finch
is living in my house.
He makes a lot of noise
for someone smaller than a mouse.
