Westboro Baptist Church Member At A Funeral
By Elton Camp
A sign he held and tee shirt wore
Same as he went to funerals before
Mourners gathered around the grave
To him, some outraged looks gave
While they were dressed all in black
He had “God Hates You” front & back
The poster he lifted these words did tell
In large, red print it read, “Rot In Hell”
He reacted with the greatest of surprise
At the looks he saw in the mourner’s eyes
“How you folks feel, I really don’t care
To funerals, this is what I always wear.”
One pointed out the name on the headstone
That showed the identify of the one gone
When a gander the man did take
He realized his horrible mistake
Fred Phelps was the dead man’s name
Westboro Church Founder was the claim
He took his sign and slipped away
He’d use it again some other day
But more carefully he’d investigate
Just who it is he intends to berate
Westboro Baptist Church Honored
By Elton Camp
National Unity Today Society awarded a prize
For the greatest service in refuting public lies
“Westboro Baptist has pulled the veil away,
The cause of all mankind’s ills to betray.”
Or so that worthy Society has decreed
As it issued a trophy & wished godspeed
Engraved on it, “So Will It Now Endure”
Meaning picketing funerals is the cure
The reverend, on the church altar placed
As his glowering congregation he faced
“This fine award will go very far
In showing the public what we are.”
“Amen, amen!” the flock did yell
“All but us are going right to hell.”
Westboro Baptist Church Pickets Pine Trees
By Elton Camp
The reverend and flock are at it again
Pine trees they condemn for gross sin
All that yellow pollen got their attention
Its horrid perversion they had to mention
Pine trees have parts, both male and female
A fact that makes the righteous turn pale
“Little cones, the male pollen make.
Woody cone are female--a mistake.”
“Our God made them Adam and Eve.
These *** trees are hard to believe.”
So this is what their posters had to tell
“These pine trees are going right to hell”
At a pine tree, they marched all around
Shouting, “This tree must be cut down!”
“God hates this tree and we hate it too.
For being bisexual, its punishment is due.”
Westboro Baptist Church to Picket at Sandy Hook
By Elton Camp
“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment,” Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted on Dec. 15.
Westboro Baptist Church is at it again
Praising their god for punishing sin
“God is love” the Bible does say
But they refuse to have it that way
The god they worship is strange to me
The one from the Bible he cannot be
Bible: Each one for his own sins will die
To execute the innocent God won’t try
Twenty children a lunatic did kill
Did that crime give God a thrill?
A secular nation gays does tolerate
Does that bring on all God’s hate?
A theocracy the US has never been
It need not try to ban religious sin
I agree gay conduct to God is wrong
To the state its banning doesn’t belong
Yet here they come to picket a school
All will indignantly say, “What a fool”
Westboro Baptist Church Praises God for Hurricane Sandy
By Elton Camp
For dozens killed and damage of 55 billion
Westboro Church says, “God, thanks a million.”
“Thank God for righteous judgment,” one said
This was the daughter of the congregation head
So God sent the whirlwind on hapless Delaware
Because they legalized same-sex marriage there
And poor Connecticut is a state that’s guilty too
Their sins that church’s god will make ‘em rue
New York, the wrath of their god does endure
He will destroy man, woman, child for sure
If their church in Kansas should blow away
I have to wonder what they would then say
Would they confess it was due to their sin
Or admit they’re wrong with a foolish grin
A church with doctrine so filled with hate
On about everyone’s last nerve does grate
Westboro Baptist Church Upheld
By Elton Camp
The Supreme Court says they have the right
To demonstrate, to yell, to spew hate and spite
True Christians are identified by showing love
Something this church seems to be devoid of
Even those who view homosexuality as a wrong
Are tired of Westboro Baptist Church’s old song
Because after almost any type of natural disaster
To assign blame, it is the gays that they go after
That the Lord will punish all people due to gays
Seems to most a distortion of his righteous ways
If there comes flood, fire, terrorism, earthquakes
It is a direct act of God according to those fakes
Certainly, they have a right their views to state
But it should be done with great love, not hate
Perhaps they may believe they’re the chosen few
If they were, they’d be loving with what they do
