"Open Avenues"
Easily judged
all reflections of you
echo in others’ mirrors
they are reflecting shards of you
prisms of light
bounce back hooded
in darkened eyes
remnants reflecting
that return
that Return
endless
unknown
unnamed
incalculable
open avenues
Easily judged
all reflections of you
echo in others' mirrors
they are reflected
shards of you
reflecting
unknown
incalculable
openings
the unexplored
avenues

why do u show up
like morning organic
did they plant u
fields of birth portals
send the doc home
he doesn't put out fires
a match made in heaven
i am out of this world
emptied all the of the bottles
im staying responsible
took my sole on a ride
this is what u call obstacles
im not here for myself
even though i might flex
calisthenics im pulling up bodies
innovate out the flesh

Daydream Avenues
By Kevin Robey
November 4, 2013
(Verse 1)
I’ll protect you from all the things I’ve seen
I will douse your match in something serene
No more kerosene, no more kerosene
Maybe its alright to shatter one more night
For fateful nights your light took my sight
Blinded white, I’m blinded white
I asked for more, I asked too much
Your hidden rooms I couldn’t touch
Be my crutch, just be my crutch
(Chorus)
Daydream avenues we conceived
Fantasy decrees only fools believe
File this smile to shine on through
As we move on from all we knew
(Verse 2)
Alone again with all my fears
And honesty I hate to hear
Crystal clear, I’m crystal clear
Relive those nights I’ll never forget
Those sunshine dreams won’t ever fit
Losing it, I’m always losing it
Escape again to the hole I once dug
Stronger than oak, harder than drugs
Pulling the plug, I’m pulling the plug
Mirrored eyes these days I despise
Littered with ties to my daily lies
Breathing knives, I’m breathing knives
(chorus)
Daydream avenues we conceived
Fantasy decrees only fools believe
File this smile to shine on through
As we move on from all we knew

Through vacant atmospheres
the landscapes of seagull town,
and the ears that hear the silent outcries,
lies the riddles that gallop unpredictable songs
that rises hues of pallad sunsets.
I'd leave you alone with your thoughts,
thoughts of empty avenues
and speeches of people so few.
Watching the running rainbow
beginning the curtains close
blowing every dandelion
sketching the statues pose.
The wild flowers have withered
and my tears can't breathe.
Cant entice the hearts of stone
finding my words without a tone.
Blunt thorns consume minds
plain puzzle pieces aren't hard to find.
Dry raindrops trickle down my arm
parchments of apathy hosting arid harm
paper illusions flying low
we all dance bashfuly solo.
As I capture the lights
on wet road nights
I wish you'd follow me
up to brighter days
away from this maize

Grassy verged mounds
On a country roadside grace
Where a canopy of browns
Declare autumn in place
The branches rise
While winter nears
As if they were praising the sun
Allaying their fears
For after their fall
Another colour may grace
In crystal form
And the lands will embrace
The whitening ices
Grounds barren to white
Crisp starry skies
Like sparkling lights
With a flick of her switch
She turn spring on
As the buds appear
Singing a totally new song
Through the bright months they grow
As the temperature warms
Natures miracles
In all shapes and forms
Our smiles get wider
As the summer blooms
Fragrances aplenty
Like scented perfumes
And here we are
It's autumn again
The seasons like great symphonies
Always proud and replaying

The avenues of life,
and it's trials of strife.
Wrong roads taken,
dreams that have been shaken.
Broken heart and tears a falling,
all night long and into the morning.
Leaving this old town,
before I have a breakdown.

Spent energy
No drive
Droopy eyelids
Must revive
Need sleep
Too much to do
Running errands
Losing you
Cradling memories
Yesterday’s past
Sensing distance
Falling fast
Love for life
Children first
Endless devotion
Now we’re cursed
I won’t change
This is me
Lost in a tug of war
Amidst this jubilee
