Premium MemberThe Sacred Meow Society Poetry Contest

In the dead half of night, when the dark is too still,
The Sacred Meow Society convenes to court thrill,
A council of cats, with eyes all ablaze,
With ancient importance through worlds they liaise.

They gather in secret, beneath high moon's light,
Muted meowing their own regal rite,
Discussing the mysteries of yarn and of death,
And the ways of the world, and new cures for fish breath.

With flicks of their whiskers and fur shining bright,
They purr of appeasements and secrets at night,
And though their language we cannot speak,
Their power and presence we constantly seek.

For this feline committee is more than just cats,
It's a connection to something, that goes beyond that,
A reminder of mystery, it's woven in life,
That enigmas and horrors exist next to strife.

Keep your ears open along with your eyes,
For ominous mews from which fright fills the sky,
And know that the cats, who gather in peace,
Are a reminder of darkness, that never does cease.

Premium MemberIn Pursuit of Wisdom

Appeasements have the fragrance of folly to the wise.
From the lips of the unwise, the tongue knows no boundary.
When warranted expectancies vanish, the unexpected will rise.
Insincerity of heart, though flowered in roses, is the cousin of flattery.
To the pure in heart and mind, plots of bedevilment are difficult to disguise.
Good seeds beget good fruit; results from ill-gotten gains give birth to misery.

Independence from Great Britain was an idea whose time had come
Navigating the 'high seas of King George 111' required a greater King

Dissolution and revolution, the price paid when there is no resolution
Eruptions result from the build-up of too much pressure

Pledges of their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor were vital
Essential to the success of the revolution was their unity
Noteworthy was their appeal to "The Supreme Judge of the world"*

'Decisions' unbacked by action is best defined as 'considerations'
Existence of God and reliance upon Him were evident
Not concessions or appeasements, but resistance is the remedy against evils
Courage is the capacity to meet danger without giving way to fear**
Enumerating their greviances, the colonists left no doubts

It was Patrick Henry who said, "Give me liberty or give me death". Neutrality of a nation has little or no meaning for a world in decline

Death is the ultimate sacrifice and is often the price to be paid for freedom Elections by a free people must never be corrupted, denied, nor abolished

Powers are derived from people and must never be taken away from the people Evils, personal or political, perpetrated against people must never be tolerated "Never Again Convictions" can inspire us and give birth to a new birth of freedom

Defense of our sacred documents, conceived in blood, must be upheld at all cost Every victory over repression and tyranny demand a total commitment New England revolted because she was bathed in oppression and tyranny 'Concessions' can be tools of deception and another name for 'appeasements' Enemies of 'the free spirit of liberty and justice', must be confronted and defeated

Darkness

Full white
moon.
Star ceiling.
Fire roaring.
Flames soaring.
Sparks flying
high,
high into
the night.
Chanting
loudly.
Baleful voices
sounds
echoing off
the stones.
Drums beating.
Faces painted.
Wild dance,
arms raised.
Looking
 on high.
Superstitions
born.
Religions
genesis.
Wild night,
sacrifice delivered.
Appeasements,
prayers made.
Moonlight,
shadows thrown,
seeing ghosts.
Ghosts dancing,
flying
in the glades.
The world,
a frightful
place
so very
long ago.

Premium MemberFear Not

Failure is refusing to willfully engage, encounter, or face that which we perceive will do us harm.

Effective threats can render timidity, rendering void the realization of our own ability and power.

Activities or conditions otherwise pleasant, may turn violent and increase our heart rates.

Resolutions of compromise often are influenced by the appeasements from the uncivilized.

Never allow fear to control us; but realize that love evicts fear, rendering it null and void.

Opsticles are not road blocks or walls, but tools of training, making me a stronger person.

Terrorists are cowards, intimidators, and afraid of the light wherein lies the real fight

Shallow Appeasements

The words of apology floated off her tongue with ease,
They fell in pieces on the floor before me,
swirling in the thick of battle,
 looking for the usual response,
But the lesson was already spawned,
And this overly giving heart refused to cede,
For now I know the sincerity of these shallow words.,
Just flung at me to accept the absurd
So now the cycle is broken
And she looks dismayed
As no apology is accepted today.

Ponderousness Time

Indifference begins the cause of this
Conditional sacrifices foundation of blame
 Persistent time replaces newly bliss

 Surrendered love achieves burdened gain
Confine entire beings one sacred list
Leads eager spirits to the threshold of insane

 Resentment reduces once loved useless
Defines what owed brings love a new name
Matters not here true love is a miss

Irony converts the bargaing of time
Every choice had been made very clear
Spoiled now the thought once mine

Limited now what was formerly dear
Unqualified becomes this meager design
 Slacken hearts no longer hear

 Appeasements answer I must decline
Finished sensations before held near
Matters not true love did not bind
