I believe I can make a difference
Why? Because I've learned to change my ways
I've stopped fretting about my aliments
And started living in the moment, each day
I've stopped fixating on my trivial issues
I’ve started planting positive seeds
My life belongs to the community
You'll have to excuse me if I cull a few weeds
I want to burn a candle at both ends
Therefore, I start my work before daylight
What an honor it is to help those in need
I believe that's my purpose in life
It's the great irony of living
The more I give the more I receive
To serve with no agenda
That's what I believe

UNNECESSARIES
Some days when we need aliments
Or stuff to clean our residence
My wife sends me to venture out
With mission like a good Boy Scout
Well briefed with edicts firm conveyed
By She: one who must be obeyed
I go forth full of good intent
No thought to breach nor circumvent
With list in hand I scout for best
Of items to fulfil my quest
When eye in wayward fashion’s drawn
To piles of “When it’s gone it’s gone”
And little siren packs and parcels
Speak to me of tempting morsels
Biscuits, chocolates crisps and nuts
Lay there, seduce like wanton sluts
Returning home my bag replete
With stocks both needed and effete
Mid staple list I seek to bury
Little things unnecessary
I state my case as I intone:
“Man does not live by bread alone!”
The things that bring delight and joy
Lift spirits of this bad old boy
With love let’s happiness pursue
And relish what we have, not rue
Two hearts then gratified and merry
That my Dear is NECESSARY!

Phoenix
Resigned to know I feel my heart
a beating drum to reach a stage
toward getting older where I feel
the aches and pain, that sometimes rage
With other aliments to inure
and aid from someone to adjure
improve myself where I assuage
measure my mind just as a guage
And as a Phoenix, I evolve
adopt its motif to resolve
in thought and purpose, I renew
my waning years, I bid adieu

The mountain stands tall
Climbing it puts fear in a soul
Below there are trees in colors of fall
The chasm between the rocks is so great one can’t see bottom of the wall
The higher up there is moor
And higher still snow white and pure
Even if climb ifs very tough for sure
The mountain is terrifying yet it has strange allure
Edelweiss lives there and can be seen if mount one will tour
For many aliments it is cure
Its color is azure
And hard mountain conditions it can endure
Moor is violet during the fall
That is the color of the soul
Caressing it the very God can recall
And his vision the moor will extol
On the top of the mountain two pillars stand tall
But seem to be supporting nothing at all
What they are supporting is sky as a whole
This is their role
No matter what those pillars will endure
The counterbalance to very Omni verse they assure
Place where idea of chaos fundamentally makes no sense they secure
And it is this mesmerizing glory that is reflected in mountain moor
