Zilch, That Is What I Got

Some days I work so hard to get

my name on a winners' list, yet

it might end up for naught.

Zilch, that is what I got.

But was it still worth it? YOU BET!

Competing is more fun than winning. I'd join every contest if I were capable.

I know the feeling - win some, lose some, but some of the losses leave you scratching your head, lol, (I didn't enter this one, so I'm not complaining about BW) ... all in personal preference, I guess, and we end up reaching people either way - that's the true blessing! Congrats, Andrea! :-) <3

An awesome limerick Andrea. It's so witty and relatable for those of us who enter contests. Your poem is superb. Good luck in the contest!

It's always worth it! And you do end up on plenty of winners list, Andrea, because your work is so good :)

Thanks for that sweet comment, Agnes. Trying to write for lots of challenges, I fall short now and then. Some contests are just more inspiring than others. And I hate it when I truly love a theme but cannot make it work for me as well as I see others doing. Like that one of yours the other day I liked so much. I wished I had been able to come up with that one!!

I don't enter the contests to win, I enter them for the challenge that is before me when they present it! I just love a good contest, and while it is nice to get on the winners list, it's not my primary goal! I loved your delightfully fun Limerick my friend! You have surely written a fabulous poem here this morning! What a grandiose piece, Great Work!!

Thanks, Russell, you are the TRUEST example of a person I know who has such a positive attitude about things. I really appreciate your good attitude.

One of the things I've always admired about you, Andrea, is that you write for almost every contest (and least it seems like it to me) well you write for many contests, fearlessly, I'm in awe at how you can be inspired by so many contests. You do a really good job too because you win a lot! But you also have a good attitude when you don't make the list, and just happy that you were inspired to write. I think that's how it should be, so thanks for setting a good example :) Love your poem!

awww, thanks, Becca. But don't be fooled by me. With my super close friends, I do gripe sometimes when I think I deserved to be on a list. haha!!! Anyway, we have to try to not let it effect us. Thankfully the same poems that get put down by some judges get put high on another one's list!! (I try to enter them all, but it's very difficult. I probably do 80%. I think Constance is better than I am at entering many contests!!)
