Zeus Is Coming To Get Me

they run for their umbrellas
I scoff
none of them realize
this is a violet's favorite rain
it comes down in the gentlest of ways
tiny droplets, refreshing and replenishing

people try to get me to take a ride
i politely refuse
extending my arms out to show I love this
some shake their heads
others smile
remembering a time when they did this too?

rain picks up pace. It is colder now
I put my umbrella up
hoping to see something struck by lightning
A loud cymbal crash of thunder makes me smile
Zeus is coming to get me
I feel loved

Hello Caren, I will walk in the rain I do not mind getting wet. But not in the thunder showers.

I walk in the rain no matter what; sadly ignoring danger.

Marvelous, Caren. Deb and I were sort of smashed after dinner at the Seagram's Tower at Niagara Falls. We left in a rain, running back to the hotel while singing that song. People thought we were nuts. We were, ah, but what fun! You brought back that wonderful memory.

"Singing in the Rain, oh, singing in the rain. What a wonderful feeling! I'm happy again!" I can hear Debbie Reynolds singing it right now!
