Viv Wigley Poet Sonnet

Zeitoun

Appearing on the roof  in blazing light
dove-like escort circling her crown
her radiance lit up the Cairo night
and from it's cooling stillness woke the town.
In wonderment and awe the people came
believers and the Godless side by side
witnessing healing of the blind and lame
rekindling of faith so long denied.
The government and scientists all strove
to solve the smoke and mirrors high above
no earthly agent could they find who wove
this vision bathing them in life and love.

No evidence of practise to deceive
so all that's left for man is to believe.
