Youth Dreams

Youth dreams, Real they seemed, Until reality Deemed it a rar’ty, Persuaded this lion’s heart To frailty, And made it bleed. What seemed to be Instead was an ego’s pride, Incapable mind over heart A deep foreshadowing, Became its own pawn, An overdue introspection Within it all too obvious Through the looking glass, Apparently forsaken, Just like the crescent moon in all its glory, Presents half itself before me, Lit me up but left me out, A sight to be seen but not adorning Just a fool in the sky, Half faced before me. This Man in the Moon, Looking down upon me, Unforeseen the battle he’s in. ~Sealion
