Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

You'Re the One

Suffering another setback, suffering another fall
Suffering from years of running, it’s time I stop and give You all
Now I give You all, Lord I give You all

Weary from a life in bondage, resisting what I know is true
Living for my selfish pleasures, now I want to live for You
Now I live for You, Lord I live for You

Walking in my strength and power, yet dying in my very soul
Efforts that were all for nothing, defeated I surrender all
I surrender all, now I surrender all

Jesus, You’re the One who gave food to the hungry
Jesus, You’re the One who gave sight to the blind
Jesus, You’re the One lifted high on the cross for my sins
And today I give You my life

Father take my heart, breathe Your Spirit into me
Living Water that’s refreshing to my soul
Jesus You have knocked, now I’ll open up the door
Heaven shall rejoice, I’m prodigal no more

Jesus, You’re the One who’s the Friend of the friendless
Jesus, You’re the One who sets the captives free
Jesus, You’re the One on whose shoulders I lay down my sin
And in You I claim the victory

Jesus, You’re the One who will come back in glory
Jesus, You’re the One who will conquer the foe
Jesus, You’re the One who will wipe all the tears from my eyes
And forever reign on Your throne

Jesus, You’re the One who has saved me from darkness
Jesus, You’re the One who is love from on high
Jesus, You’re the One who’s the conqueror of death and the grave
And today I give You my life

*Part I of the ten-part narrative “Arise”
You’re the One, Hope of Glory, Arise, I Am, A Willing Offering,
Hear My Son, Wait No Longer, It Is Finished, Forever, Amen
