Your War

Bloodied and battleworn
I called for a steed that could run
Instead of a horse
You brought me a gun

A comrade in the trench
Not an invitation to a ball
I've run out of ammo
But it is'nt my war
You angered the enemy
He thinks it was me
You gave without asking
Now the problem is yours

I believe war is the creation of old men to shore up wanning manhood. I am happy you wrote these words so easy for everyone to understand There can be no hiding behind a plea of ignorance of content. Jannie I hope people who read this piece don't just see it but digest the words make them part of blood and bone.

Good Morning Jannie. Allow me to say this is explosive expressive powerful and more. What can be said for this message and for the ending words alone, everything. Honestly. I'm so glad I turned to you work and your page this morning. You are obviously skilled at this craft we call poetry. I very much enjoyed your theme here. Well done throughout.

Indeed! The acrid bite of truth here ... wonderfully woven and well-said, Jannie ... The only wisdom in war is regret ...

War is pure hell, lets not join in next time. Instead lets dance and sing, get drunk and be happy.. And if not that, then lets all go fishing!! You nailed it-- bloodied and battle-worn is noway to be!!

Hi Robert, yes I agree but in this case it refers to a partner but as they say - All is fair in love and war
