Your Side of the Bed

You face the wall, And snore through the night. I face the window, And pray for morning light. You say it’s all in my head, We’re not falling apart. The pain is in my chest, The breaking of a heart. You face the wall, Saying everything’s alright. I face the window, And cry through the night. Opposite sides of the bed, The space between us real. Something is wrong, We’re miles apart I feel. But on your side, You say everything is fine. Please tell me why, The view is different from mine. You convince me I’m crazy, From your side of the bed. Close enough to touch, Still worlds apart in my head. How can it be, So perfect on your side. When I lay here hurting, With no one to confide.
