Your Light Shines Bright

To the teams of rescuers on the front line in Haiti The Pilots, the Soldiers, and Truck Drivers The Doctors, Nurses, and the Aides The Clergymen, Volunteers To the average Haitian giving of themselves To meet the needs of their fellowmen Your light shines bright in this dark hour As a beacon to all the world Rewards more precious than priceless gems To you and yours are assured In a place where time can neither erase nor robbers pilfer God blessings to you all

This lovely poem reminds me of 1977 as I survived a 7.6 earthquake in Bucharest/Romania. I was on the 13th floor that awful evening of March 4th :( I feel for those poor souls in Haiti. I cannot believe that the UN soldiers ordered a big team of doctors and nurses to leave Haiti as Dr. Sanje Gupta - the CNN correspondent said today on TV. They are crazy to do that. Thank you for your comments. Love, Iolanda

Beautifully written here, Audrey. I just hope after the media frenzy dies down that 6 months from now the people of Haiti can still receive help ... smile ...

Great tribute write about the Haitian situation. Keep the creative pen flowing. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work about the seven-layer-cake. I was thinking of my mother and wrote that in rememberance of her for she was known for her cakes and cooking in general. Sara
