Notes About The Poem

Your Hate Consumes You

your hate consumes you
and God sees that too...
"If you hate your brother [sister]
you have already committed murder
in your heart."

Oh...but that one doesn't fit you, you think
"victimized"
pray for open eyes
spreading lies
is murder in another guise

I sigh
because you are so way off the mark
out in the dark
you think you know it all
In the end
He'll make that call...

The only one who is sinless
Is Jesus, you see
only...only He
and if He condemns,
Then so let it be

Other than He...no one can point a finger at me...

So, put away your misguided hate
before it's too late
before it eats your soul
and you lose all control

Ask to be set free
His reward is sure
He'll lift you high
you'll touch the sky

Instead of being chained...
We are all in need of grace
that's YOU...and that's ME

Eileen

Yes, we all are in need of grace. Thankfully Jesus has more than enough for all who come to Him. I sometimes wonder why those who have been forgiven still choose to carry their own burdens.

So true Eileen...I know I have sinned. I try not to judge others but I know I fail sometimes. Hope you are doing well.

Tim....you have the right spirit. We all sin....just differently. One sin isn't any better or worse than another....it's all sin. Thanks for the visit. I'm busy with family. Hubby comes back today after almost a month... :)

Those who hate are the ones in chains, this is true... we all need to be more forgiving. We all need grace.

Yes, Becca. We all do. Sometimes it's hard to let go of pain and resentment. To err is human...to forgive, divine. I've done my share of erring...God can do the forgiving....if we ask. He can help give us that spirit. Thanks for the visit...

Yes true, hatred can be found everywhere and sometimes over the silliest of things, I'm deffo not chained, I forgive instantly an forget it, as Clint says, it only weighs you down. Very well written my little Desert Orchid. Take care, Richard

I keep checking for something new from you, Richard...and I'm always disappointed. When will you come back? I honestly hope it's soon. You've been away forever...glad hate isn't an issue for you. Maybe you can tell me how you manage. Thanks for the visit, Mr Seal. Always happy when you come around...I do miss your light hearted bantering. Hugs

Not a bad write, rolls well, the rhyming seems unforced, and to the point,..I am not bothered about the internals , this is a decent well written poem...well done...
