Your Fears

What is it that your becoming,
What fears lie in your head.
What thoughts haunt your mind at night,
That refuse to let you rest.
Is it something that can be helped,
A fate that can be cured.
Is it worse than others think,
Is it less or is it more.
Who wonders whats been on your mind,
What nightmares could make you scream.
What poisons seep into your blood,
Are you who you seem to be.
What do you fear so badly,
A fate worse than death.
Is it cold where you lie thinking,
When will you finally be able to rest.
What fears lie in your head,
What thoughts haunt your mind at night,
What is it that your becoming,
A monster in your own right.

This is a thought provoking piece. Fear has a way of working its effects in so many places in the mind. I can relate to what you've written here. By the way, you might want to edit your first line to include an apostrophe (you're) if you don't mind me mentioning. You have a very direct way of communicating. It's earthy and has a beat. It's different from a lot of what I have read on this site, so it's nice to see a style that is unique and deep.
