Your Beautiful Heart Doth Beat

Author's Notes: This Shakespearean Sonnet, entitled: "Your Beautiful Heart Doth Beat," is a romantic sonnet reflecting a true, passionate, and exciting love between two people who by their mutual destiny and fate have found one another. I used the delight of the woman's "Beautiful Heart" and the "magic of its beat and its brilliant tempo" as theme points and a metaphor for further developing the passion and joy of the couple's love for one another. This gave me the foundation I needed to complete the picture of their God-inspired love and the notion that it was an actual gift from God Himself and a reflection of His divine love. In the end couplet of this sonnet, the man makes his special prayer to God beseeching that he may have the woman's love forever, and then ends by declaring his love and that he shall never leave her. Your Beautiful Heart Doth Beat

Your beautiful heart doth beat with rapture,
And the sweet of your kiss doth now swoon me.
We caress now and my soul you capture;
My love no place other I wish to be!

When we embrace my love in joy and fun,
Our hot passions spark an alchemic fire.
Our spirits soar high now becoming one,
Affirming love only God can inspire!

Your heart beats a brilliant tempo of love,
That enchants our eternal souls replete.
It’s God’s gift to us from Heaven above,
And His divine love is true and complete!

To God now I pray your love forever;
I declare my love leaving you never!

As the most powerful force in the world, it is certifiably rational to claim that God is its author. He established the precedent when He sent his Son to accomplish the Atonement. Your poem powerfully validates the truism that love is God's magnificent gift to His children--in romance and everything else. Great work, Gary.

Hello Vera, No worries at all!! Ingrid reads everything I write whether its poetry or short stories. She really likes this particular sonnet too, as I do. This one was slightly challenging to put together because of the Iambic Pentameter requirements and the variation of words I had to use. But my work and patience with it paid off, resulting in this really nice sonnet. I do enjoy both your and Peter's poetry too very much. By the way, I'm planning to write a novel in the future, based on a recent Novelette write I've done for my second-planned book. I will still keep writing poetry too -- of course!!
