Your Adopted Child
(Youth)
I wonder where my mother is
And why she let me go?
I wish I had my mommy
So much I need to know
How did I come about then
where is my father too?
Oh I wish I had my mommy
She'd know exactly what to do!
Who is this woman kissing me,
Who's up with me at night?
Sometimes I think I hate her
And I diss her just for spite!
I'll never love her back
And someday I won't stay
I'll make her very sorry
For taking me away
(Adult)
It's been eighteen years now
And I still search for Mother
I adamantly resent this woman
As I may have sister or brother
Siblings that I will never know
Except in the face of Hope
I'll never stop looking for her
I'll stay focused, I must cope
Somewhere out there
She searches for her boy
The one she had to give away
The one who brought her joy
(Dead)
I remember:
Lying in the hospital
Somewhat paralyzed
When an angel stood before me
With Glory in her eyes
"Come my Son I'll take you home,"
said Mom, extending her hand
All my questions are answered
As we followed heavens' plan.
Only now can I appreciate
My earth mom in a while
"I'm here and waiting Mom
I love you, Your Adopted Child"
