Young and In Love

She dreams of him, she wakes to reach for him, Yearning for the touch of his hands, Tears well up in her eyes, Her lips tremble, As she remembers, He has been gone many years, He left her and went on ahead, But it seems like only yesterday, When they were young and in love, And she was his bride. He dreams of her, he wakes to reach for her, Yearning for the touch of her lips, Tears well up in his eyes, His lips tremble, As he remembers, She has been gone many years, She left him and went on ahead, But it seems like only yesterday, When they were young and in love, And he took her as his bride. Nicely done mirror image, Timothy. Has a 'real feel' to it: Tender, but never maudlin. ~ Gershon

What a master. The imagery is so strong that though the reader feels the perfect symmetry, it takes a moment before realizing... wait a minute, there were only a few words changed in the second stanza. Such vivid imagery side by side. Beautifully executed, Timothy.
