Young
flushed cheeks
cool wind forcefully pushing
Running running running
Trying to keep up the pace
Pumping myself up to go on
Just a little more
One more lap and you’ll be done
Sweat dripping from my reddened cheeks
Feeling the heat rising from my skin
Intensity motivating every push
The loud thump of my heartbeat in my ears
Breathing forcefully taking over me
Needing more time to calm
Needing more time to ground myself
Then realizing I’m here right now
Here I am in this moment
Nowhere else
This is mine
Pure happiness
