You Were the One Then

by Betty L. Hobbs

Then came the breeze
That blew like the wind
And took you away
Away with the wind

You were the one then
And now you are gone
And I’m in my home
A place to write
I am all alone

You were the one then
When I was young
And you were then
Seems things change
Like the wind
Then comes the rain
Then the pain

Now there’s happiness again
I’ve felt the breeze
I’ve felt the wind
There’s
A change in me
I feel
The breeze
I’ve found Jesus
I’ve
Been
On my knees

Very descriptive. This reminds me of the old fifties song "The Breeze" by Kay Starr.
