You Too Will Go

You too will go
In wake of time
When I have lost
Rhythm and rhyme
When beauty is
No longer mine
Again mortal
And not divine
It’s just the way
The way of life
What fascinates
Will lose its glow
And this sad truth
I surely know
Like all others
Down this long line
Who found me sweet
But for a time
You too will go

You too will go
When all my words
No longer fill
And written lines
No longer thrill
When what I write
Is seen as stale
Nothing
No nothing will prevail
You too will go

You too will go
Like you have gone
Some time before
For others that
You did adore
When wonder fades
And skies turn grey
When darkness crowds
The light of day
You too will go
And I will stay
Yes, I will stay
Left here to pray
For LOVE to come

Eileen; The outside beauty fades with time, but the beauty that comes from within - stays forever. That is what you have. Many people will walk in and out of our lives, but few will live prints in our hearts. You are one of those people. Smile we love you... Lucilla

What happens if your beauty grows stronger? What happens to those who are in love with your soul Eileen? J.A.B.

Thank you, Richard...Poets are a fickle lot. Swayed by words. Loyalties change. Oh well...this is life. It's almost like being an actress who depends on her looks for her livelihood. Once the looks are gone...she has this panic attack. How will she survive. Writers are the same. Always worried their words will somehow get lost in the poetry pool. Anyway...thanks for the lovely comment.

Sounds like the melancholy moon that was full stirred your emotions Eileen. It affects everyone that way. I want to stay! Hugs, C
