You Sang To Me With Every Intention

When the distractions of little things
   piled on my found feelings,
you sang with every intention of
   drawing me close, out
of the clutter in my mind until

   I heard only your voice.
You had me out of my shell, ready
   to reach for your hand,
to show me what I dared not see.

But. Your courage was only for show
And held up for only the glow
Of the ghost of you, in
   the night, charmed and lost,
hovering over my every mood

While you go on singing of
things never to come, I
bored of things that never were.

Those that only do things for show don't last very long. Nicely done on the topic of no depth of character. Keep writing. Sara
