You Never Knew Me

We are but friends
and nothing more
But I am lost in you
Sadly, you don't know me

And I know nothing of you
I have but a blissful dream
of what could be
and nothing more

And as time speeds on
nothing changes
but I love you more
and still you don't know me.

all I have now is a memory
and nothing has changed
you never knew me
and I am alone

Unrequited love so well expressed, i know few in this situation, suppressing their love, and how they truly feel, i felt the emotions you’ve expressed here so eloquently! I especially love “ And as time speeds on nothing changes but I love you more “ that hits so deep! And is so evocative. Love this poem!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my poem. It's often said that one should draw inspiration from personal experiences, even the emotionally challenging ones. Prior to this, I hadn't produced anything particularly noteworthy, but sometimes, inspiration strikes when we least expect it. In this case, I find myself grateful for the unexpected muse that sparked this creation.
