You Never Knew Me

We are but friends
and nothing more
But I am lost in you
Sadly, you don't know me

And I know nothing of you
I have but a blissful dream
of what could be
and nothing more

And as time speeds on
nothing changes
but I love you more 
and still you don't know me.

all I have now is a memory
and nothing has changed
you never knew me
and I am alone

It's often said that one should draw inspiration from personal experiences, even the emotionally challenging ones. Prior to this, I hadn't produced anything particularly noteworthy, but sometimes, inspiration strikes when we least expect it. In this case, I find myself grateful for the unexpected muse that sparked this creation.
