Notes About The Poem

You Love Your Poetry

You love your poetry
much more than you love me
the cadence of each rhyme
a convoluted crime!!!
Each "form" a great delight
but I'm kept out of sight
You have no thought for me
But love your poetry

You write with passion, soul
to charm the throng, your goal
the syllables so.... sweet
are like a tasty treat
With sugar laden line
you write of thoughts sublime
But this is plain to see
You love your poetry...

Then take it now to bed
Make sure your rhyme you wed
Make love to it at night
I'll keep just out of sight
the rhythm will not please
no sexy "form" to tease
the letter curves won't fill
your finger's need to thrill
the words won't rock desire
nor will you taste the fire
of senses in a spin
though top prize you may win
you'll lie alone in bed
no bosom for your head

Though you love poetry
It can't compare to ME!!!

Eileen Manassian Ghali

A person can be jealous about anything his/her loved one is passionate about, be it music, sports, photography, or....poetry. I got a kick out of writing this one! :) It's the revenge of the one jilted by that obsessive passion of the loved one....

longest time friend. You've just exhibited to the highest quality exactly what I have missed in here for months. Your lines are so exciting and your words are each having that second hand of drawing me back to them again and again and again irrespective of how many times I have gone through them. Its nice to be home and you are part of the reason I have this refreshing feeling. A definite 7. Cheers!

Hi Eileen. This is such a great poem that certainly rings with truth. I'm sure there are many that have had to deal with the obsessive writer. I'm know that I fall into that category from time to time. Very creative and a bit of an educational eye opener. This is a 7 and will go into my favorites. Loved it, my friend.... Robert.

So rhythmical, so critical, very creative. I pity the poet and his poetry...but I guess you're now all his poetry! Oops! I'm a poet! I had better watch out lest to bed I go all alone with my poetry...so cold you know! Hahahaaa....smart work Eileen. Thumbs up.

OH dear....well, isn't this intriguing. You are nameless, that I see....and herein is the mystery. I cannot fathom, what you mean....until your name and pic I've seen. So, go to bed and try to sleep, but pray the ghouls won't make you weep. Pay to your muse what is her due, so she'll not come to bother you! :) Thanks for the visit, Mr Nameless....

I know what you are getting at, Eileen, but couldn't his passionate poetry have been inspired by his beloved woman?! If she knew that she would not be jealous, but would encourage him to compose more lovely 'poetry' when they're together. Hugs // paul

Hmmmmmmmm.....well, you do give a new angle to this I hadn't thought of, dear. Perhaps that is just wistful thinking!? It's a lovely thought though. To be a muse is a sweet sweet privilege. Must get ready for classes, but I will surely visit you soon, partner!

Whether by will of words, the sweet tempest of touch, or by the dance of dreams love lives, and prevails in the heart. This be the logos of love. I love the passionate way that you educate me. No word compares to the heat of your love's flare...J.A.B.

Ha ha, this is so clever Eileen. I love writing but give me the love and affection of my sweetie and poetry is quickly forgotten.

I guess music was a sort of mistress to people like Mozart. Passion and obsession for poetry is the same, I guess. Thanks for the visit....

Eileen, I enjoyed this piece very much. You are such a gifted and talented writer. Each line and every verse was good but the third stanza and your last line" Though you love poetry it can't compare to Me" just wowed me. Excellent job!:-)Alexis 7

My dearest Eileen, if I were he, I would have answered with these words: " Be not jealous of my poetry for my poetry is you!" Excellent. A7
