You Looked Back

And there was I,
In a hazy dream world,
Before me -
Reds, blues, blacks and browns,
Suede, leather, other materials,
Heels, flats and wedges.

I departed,
A movement caught my eye,
A turning round,
I glanced up…

You had turned round,
You looked back,
To see me?
To see if I saw you?
I smiled,
A brief exchange of words.

I was almost dazed,
The moment ended,
You walked on,
And now I ponder…
You looked back.
