You Have a Choice

The battle between Rich and poor
the needs of one conflict
with the needs of the other
Rich people want cheap labor

reduced costs
poor people want
better wages, holidays, life
the negotiation unions

Perhaps 5% unemployed
come from the desire of Rich people
having 5% unemployed stops people
changing from one job to another

Creating power and control for employee's
yet look at the damage to society
children unemployed in America
started to hang out in groups

Sticking together created safety.
Groups became Gangs.
The gang's made rules of initiation
the fighting started between rivals

Children learned they could make money
selling drugs a child could earn
four thousand dollars per day
money for food, money for fun.

Organised crime became involved
people want money to feed their families
people make choices some break laws
your society starts carrying guns

people fight for different beliefs
it becomes dangerous
to walk down the street
create work and perhaps

we build productive lives
for our people
young people going to prison
show our failure and theirs

People have a choice
you can choose to get an education
or you can choose to pick up a gun
at the end of the day, you have a choice.

Thank you Darlene if only the world leaders would listen, they might be able to use some of the ideas, to overcome the problems of the planet, perhaps as people read these ideas, join together and act on these ideas, maybe we can stop poverty and overcome climate change.
