You Did...You Didn'T

I can still hear you say
Cross my heart and hope to die
Stick a pin in my eye
I will never go away
      YOU DID

I can still hear you say
Cross my heart and hope to die
Stick a pin in my eye
I will marry you some day
       YOU DIDN"T

But we were just kids back then
So how was I to know
Puppy love seldom lasts
We all change as we grow

I doubt you even remember
The things you said back then
But I sometimes think back
To the summer we were ten

In my minds eye I see a lot of things
I loved doing as a kid
And I do truly forgive you
For all the things you DID
           and DIDN'T
