You Didn't Know Me

You didn't know me Still, you can say hi, If you stop someday When out walking by I'm just a name now First, middle and last, Above two carved dates Important to my past All that is buried now Under moss and stone, Left to rest in peace To lie here all alone So, wonder and remember Leave me a flower, do, For one day you will say You didn't know me, too.

People that we are supposed to know who are really close like husband-and-wife relationships don't really know each other, only what they want the other person to know about them. Thanks for sharing this unusual and unique work with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Very heartfelt poem this is, i love the way you’ve expressed here. Especially “ all that is buried now..” “ just a name above carved dates “ how deep is that, how when we are gone all that will remain is that. For others to see.” Leave me a flower for oneday you will say you didnt know me too” this is so profound and touching! Loved reading this
