You Call My Name

You call my name
You tell me that I can’t escape my fate
But that won’t scare me away
Try to push me down, try to break my soul
But in the darkness you shall stay

You call my name
“Why is it so dark here”, you ask
I have pushed you away
Away from the cold world outside
You’re just a shattered soul

You call my name
You stir up the memories
But that was then, this is now
I have learned that nothing’s forever
And it’s gonna get much worse before it gets better
I can forget, but I can’t forgive

You call my name
I remember the tears streaming down your face
I hope you know I’m dying
I hope you know you’ve won
Despite all my effort, despite all my might
You still call my name
