You Believed In Me

As we fandangoed across the floor, what more could you wish for, forgotten days of yesteryore; when you came on strong and nothing could be wrong, when I saw you in mist and rain, the same again. I went away and you still waited for me, the need had gone to explain the mystery, forgiven for intransigence and infidelity, when I saw you in mist and rain, the same again. The spirit lifted me up and put me down, word was out, the bad boy was back in town, reputation precedes the so-called man of renown, when I saw you in mist and rain, the same again. You must believe in what's difficult to perceive, there are some things, magic, you can never leave.
