You Are Transient

You. You are transient
You are a leaf on a humid summer’s day
Waking to the flutter of the wind.
You. You are transient

You. You are transient
You are a snowflake dashing across the sky
hurried by the icy polar breeze
You. You are transient.

You. You are transient
You are a musical note hailing from a sorprano’s lips
so readily absorbed
and so easily forgotten

You. You are transient
You are a moon whose curve dwindles
as night darkens
in stormy repose

You. You are transient
You are a white rose whose fluttering eyelids
engulf the entire forest
Until decay sinks in its teeth

You. You are transient
You are a dancer whose footsteps
are the clipclops of my own feet
until I encounter a different rhythm
on these unruly streets

You. You are transient.
You flutter dash are forgotten
dwindle decay simply disappear.
