You Are the Eyes of the World

You, poet, poetess...
ARE THE EYES OF THE WORLD!

Now that I've got your attention... let's sail to avenues where few too many
cooks infuse attitutudes, burn britches in the kitchen.
Let us wave banners and quake fault lines of the masses, generate public
interest bigger than entering contests, so the future wins as we arrest eye
sights of their asses.

We've got something special in here; everyone sharing and caring and staring
at screens like queens stare in the mirror. Hey, I've got an idea dear, rather
it's more like a scattered ideal, real rednecks call "Idears, ya' hear!"

So put down yir' sweet tea, turn off Duck Dynasty and come fly with me.
We've got a whole generation of people sleeping through myriads of poetic
songs. I contest we kick 'em in the ass with something true, something
strong.

We've got a beautiful community begging to be read. But right now, the only
ones reading are those who should be writing instead.

We need to reach out, feed the needy, there's so much to teach. We are at
the beginning of something huge, but I need YOU to see there's a universe to
reach.

Look in the mirror, understand where you stand...
---------------
Note...
This stage could be HUGE!!! Poets are the last line of defense. But, here we
are limiting our song, SARDINES IN THE TIN.
We must think bigger, and
generate vibrations for the whole world to see.
Poetry is so much more than a club.

WE ARE THE EYES OF THE WORLD!

There is no communication more true than this....what we live, what we give,
what we do--- It's up to me and you!

I just now found this great write. The message is so true that it hurts. Getting people to let personal ego be set aside and seek to give/inspire others to greatness is a very hard task my friend. I didn't say impossible but it is a herculean task. Your write sings and inspires because you have a poet's heart , spirit and giving soul. I hope this makes POD and POW!!!

Dude I love your vibe! Following your lead, trying to get you. Inspired to risk it. Seein' it and wantin" to frisk it. Not sure she will give in, but what the hell, been slapped before and hope to be again. Watchin' you! Rock on!

You got me wondering what you got up your sleeve, that and who or what is DMT (I will take it as a compliment, thank you). Sorry I am just drawing a blank-- I really like your enthusiasm and energy here, Joey and of your resolve of wanting to reach out to others through poetry. Go plant those seeds of yours, share them, and grow 'em into poe.trees! As for me being active here or not, depends on my mood & connection,I really haven't been writing much, all festering in my brain....

What we write here...DOES effectuate change...it effectuates change in MY life. There are people here who have been my sanity in times of trouble and shoulders to cry on in times of pain. One person can be the world. I understand the bigger picture as well...for "The pen is mightier than the sword." There is power in words. We need to see how we can let the goodness here spill out to others. Thanks for sharing.

The essence of this poem circles around a particular project several poets and myself are taking on w/ words of encouragement enclosed for folks who have shared some thoughts with me on being unhappy lately. There is something very big on the horizon, and we are very excited! Wanted to share this one w/You bc of the spontaneity & how it came to me during a comment. I should've suggested a different poem.

A sneeze by a Chinese man, can make a Puerto Rican eatin' pecans shake the hands of a man named Peter Pan in Japan!~ You poetess, are Dead Right! EVERYTHING IS HUGE. I love it here too, if you perceived the poem as trivializing Poetry Soup, then that is simply another way to read it. Poetry is the king of Ambiguity.

So how to do what you suggest my friend? My plate is full with writing, marketing, reading, taking classes in writing, running contests, writing blogs & I have a small business ... let's hear your ideas? L & L Chief

it calls for little or no effort, mostly positive energy and a realization that poetry is an urgent language for the world to assimilate to. I am doing a book on great modern poet's and would love words of wise ones to accompany me on this journey to global enlightenment. Poetry is a lost art form and language which the world thirsts for, but hardly knows yet!~

PLEASE READ FOR EXTRA CLARITY!!!,------ (*I have copy/pasted my response to Dave below, in hopes you all understand this poem!)~This poem is way less about charity or saving the world. and way more about shining light on the fact that this might be the finest collection of modern day poets available right now, and I know something BIG is possible for this eclectic group of artists. The world is panting for poetic direction us, but we, and the world are just are too caught up to realize it yet!

hahaha, I love that part where you say we are begging to be read but "right now, the only ones reading are those who should be writing instead. " That is SO true. I spend SO much time here and I don't have enough time to even write or do all the other basic things I love so much. Stir things up, my man!!!

You are a rebel for a cause. You protest for what is truth.I am more on the soft poetic songs ,but hey I am ready to take the flight of making this silent voice heard ..This is a poem with a deep message.I love the verse where you used 'The eyes of the world'..Like it a great deal.

Allow me to give this vibrant write a 7 rating! You were born to be a leader, not only a poet, but then, poets are leaders in their own way. I can imagine you as an able orator in Julius Caesar, kindling the hearts of those who are asleep or timid and who need a dose of encouragement to react. Right...I stop here...will leave the rest of the comments to others who are waiting to come in:) cu Robo. // paul

Hear hear Mr Roboto - would LOVE to see this as 'poem of the day' so it gets read by a wider audience* - power to your mighty pen my friend! Hugs Jan xxx * wish they would reduce the number of poems an individual can post to 5 a day as many brilliant writes simply don't get seen as they disappear of the new poems page so quickly
