You are my light
When I woke this morning, in the dawns gentle light,
I knew not of the wonders; your words that would take flight
Thoughts, like whispers, danced softly and free,
Raising the bar of existence, just you and me
In a blanket woven by desires honest decree,
Each thread is a reminder of what’s meant to be
Realizing the gifts that you tenderly share,
Fills my heart to abundance, love’s bountiful care
They far surpass what I could ever claim,
Each moment together; none of them lame
Holding them close has unlocked every chain,
Sealed all the cracks in my chests, window pane
To you, I’m simple, no puzzles to solve,
In your gaze, all life’s mysteries dissolve
You’re the compass guiding my heart’s wandering quest,
The calm in the storm, the place I find solace and rest
When the drama of all starts to fray at the seams,
I just think of our laughter; the joy in our dreams
The glow of your presence after each day’s toll,
A steady reminder that you are my paired soul
So here’s to the morning, this love that we share,
To the heights that we reach, floating light as air
With you by my side, life’s ever so bright,
My heart sings this chorus; you are my light
