You Are My Favorite Sonnet
Darling, You are my favorite sonnet
you pick up my pen so effortlessly;
Muse of my tanka, quatrain, or couplet
words flow from you to the page perfectly;
Wildly free verse with no structure sometimes,
a ride around the track on a go cart;
Inspiring a love language fueled by rhymes,
every move the embodiment of art;
If I sit, let my mind begin to drift
never will I be plagued by writers block;
These thoughts engulf me inspiration’s gift,
endless ideas an electric shock;
Moments with you murmur ‘write’ into me,
transformed softly becoming poetry.
