Yesterday's Wishes
Yesterday's wishes, whispered in the night,
Like fading stars, now lost to morning's light.
Each dream a seed, with hope so brightly sown,
Now withered leaves, upon the earth unknown.
A whispered prayer, for love that would ignite,
A longing gaze, toward a future bright.
A yearning heart, that wished to soar and fly,
But found its wings clipped, by a tearful cry.
A whispered promise, made in youthful bliss,
Now broken vows, that time could not dismiss.
The past unfolds, a tapestry of rue,
Where yesterday's desires, forever accrue.
Yet in the heart, a fragile hope remains,
For new beginnings, and for gentler rains.
