Yesterday's wish

Yesterday, I wished upon a star so bright,
Dreams were clear, the future seemed so right,
Now those dreams are out of sight,
Oh, yesterday, I longed for light.

Suddenly, I'm not the same as I used to be,
Shadows of the past keep haunting me,
Why the dreams have gone, I don't know, they wouldn't stay,
I made a wish, but now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday's wish, a tender plea, a fragile thread,
In time's loom where future meets the past,
I yearn for paths where joy and peace are spread,
Hoping love's moments will forever last.

But now dawn reveals the truth anew,
Wishes of yesteryear in soft hues,
Are echoes of our hearts, reflecting true,
Like morning dew, they fade, shaping our views.
