When the sands of time
challenged its reality,
love slipped through your fingers.
And yet, memories still conjure a smile
recalling those magic moments
you stored within your heart,
as you try to analyze the insanity of it all.
But love cannot bloom in yesterday's shadows,
only in tomorrow's dawning light.
Your heart grows numb
to the constant sting of lies.
And as hope falls into depression's abyss,
you struggle with emotions
of shame and self-worth,
realizing you're all alone.
The bonds of trust were severed,
and you offer your wounded heart a placebo,
seeking solace within the world of dreams.
But, feelings buried in the graves of memories,
contain both the sweet ecstasy of love,
and the bitter dregs of betrayal.
