Yesterdays Expectations

Lead me to renewed thoughts of you to relive happy times that quickly lead to anguished feelings diminishing the joys I look for in today’s sun but you quickly fade in and out and then in again I try to remember your face but your image decays A great love that was once yours and mine, the vows promised… have faded into yellowed news print in some bygone obituary never fully filling the empty space of love we felt was our future yesterday was yesterday, today is a new day And hope is the ever present ingredient in life as it moves on.
