Yellow-Fins

One by one
the Yellow Fins are gathering.
Their salty hearts gently filling 
with the indigo currents
of struggle -of living.
Tide treading the present...
back-stroking(grimacing) the past. 
Front-crawling into future's moaning crag.
Dorsal fin topped dreams and crimson cream 
never seem to last...
or do they?

The wicked wield wicked nets... squeezing tighter.
Calloused gaffs move in greedily.
The joy of yellow fins is flayed... 
One by one, 
as foul-minded sea lice gobble down
a million future suns...

Anthony, as a lover of the ocean, I enjoyed your expression of life in the sea and mourned its demise. True admirers of the sea are rare in written form, thank you for this moment of joy!

Wow, glad I come across this gem. It powerfully blends nature's beauty with the harsh realities of survival, using vivid imagery to convey both fragility and predation. I love the rhythmic flow of the ocean which reflects on the cyclical nature of life, exploitation, and the endurance of dreams. Wonderful write! ^__^ JCB
