Yearn With No Regrets
I often yearn for just one day
that I will
dance
and sing
and play
But now this dreaded Parkinson's
has taken that away
Dance like no one is watching
is what I yearn to do
But my dancing legs no longer can
Foxtrot
Tango
Or even Can Can
At times my legs can barely walk
they shuffle all around my home
Somehow feeling so much worse
when one lives all alone
Singing is much harder as my voice begins to fade
But even though it may well go
I won't give in
I love to sing
Such joy my Parkinson’s choir doth bring
So I will sing
though even when
no one can hear me sing a thing
And lastly how I yearn to play
Like when I was a child
I'd skip
and hop
and run
and jump
I was a child just running wild
I yearn with no regrets
For my life has been a good one
So in my head despite the P
I dance
and sing
and play each day
Praying a cure is not too far away...
