Wrote My Way Out

I was kicked while I was on the floor and told I was supposed to stay down They smiled while I cried I found a way to get up, even when I was bleeding on the inside I picked up a pen and wrote my way out Rising from the coffin, I'm back from the dead I lost my heart a while back, but I know where I'm at in my head I'm back for revenge on everyone who laughed while I bled I'll show all my scars and wounds, while you cowards would rather put a mask on instead I was struggling to hold on, but the Pen gave me a better grip As long as my pen is full, give me a target and I'll never miss I wrote my way out when I was trapped In the maze I cry from my pen, and the tears splash on the page I stopped self-harming 6 years ago, my scars are healing I'm no longer full of cuts Bullies pushed me down, but the pen and poetry pulled me up It's all I need when Stuck Depression gets jealous when I pick the pen up Depression likes to taunt me and remind me of my suicide attempt at 17 years old That no longer matters, because I'll win this battle as I let my fears go I'm Floyd Mayweather with a pen, I refuse to stay down Put me in any battle and I'll write my way out I was kicked while I was on the floor and told I was supposed to stay down They smiled while I cried I found a way to get up, even when I was bleeding on the inside I picked up a pen and wrote my way out
