Wrong Is Wrong

Wrong is right and right is wrong now days
Where one they call a leader’s the new way
Documents once held sacred in this land
Are lost and they don’t quite understand

A country that hasn’t always got it right
But we knew a bully wasn’t bright
We didn’t laugh when others have hurt
While calling it strength as they throw dirt

Why do I see people twist and bend
To a full fledged bully they now defend
Saying he is only telling it like it is
But all we hear is his venomous hiss

He says that he fights for those like me
But I don’t need a king for me to see
The country needs someone who understands
We need us a leader, not his kind or his brand

He calls the press the enemy,
He mocks the sick, and the refugee
He brags about the pain he brings
And somehow they call that a “king”

I’ve read the words they claim to preach,
And nowhere does it say to bleach
the truth, or trade your soul for votes,
Or wrap a lie in Bible quotes

It’s not about the left or right to me
It’s about a common sense of decency
I thought the Constitution stood for more
That laws were firm, felt to the core

I now see people spread much hate
While twisting the word called “debate”
How the left is evil or how we are wrong
When I’ve seen more love in the left all along

He’s not a savior, he’s not wise
He’s not the light in darkened skies
He’s just a man who craves control
And they’ve handed him their very soul

I’ve watched him break what made us strong
The laws, the trust, the sense of wrong
When it all comes down someday or night
I’ll still be standing on the side that’s right

Loved this sadly, he has opened many eyes to see yes he is the clown, but the circus was there long before.

So very true Art! And what’s really bad is none of the republicans will every hold him accountable for any of his actions but let it be a dem and (which they don’t do) do something even close to what he’s done and it’s like the world has burned! Thanks Art:)

Applause applause and an Amen! Dear Brenda, my dear insane sissy, oh how I’ve missed your sassy, beautiful, intelligent, expressive poetic voice!! Your poem is potent and filled with angst and pain for what you’ve observed/experienced in our reality. I stand with you. So happy to see you back, Bren! Your inspiring presence in the tree house has been sorely missed. Warmest wishes and hugs.. the sane one ;)
