Wrong Is Wrong

Wrong is right and right is wrong now days Where one they call a leader’s the new way Documents once held sacred in this land Are lost and they don’t quite understand A country that hasn’t always got it right But we knew a bully wasn’t bright We didn’t laugh when others have hurt While calling it strength as they throw dirt Why do I see people twist and bend To a full fledged bully they now defend Saying he is only telling it like it is But all we hear is his venomous hiss He says that he fights for those like me But I don’t need a king for me to see The country needs someone who understands We need us a leader, not his kind or his brand He calls the press the enemy, He mocks the sick, and the refugee He brags about the pain he brings And somehow they call that a “king” I’ve read the words they claim to preach, And nowhere does it say to bleach the truth, or trade your soul for votes, Or wrap a lie in Bible quotes It’s not about the left or right to me It’s about a common sense of decency I thought the Constitution stood for more That laws were firm, felt to the core I now see people spread much hate While twisting the word called “debate” How the left is evil or how we are wrong When I’ve seen more love in the left all along He’s not a savior, he’s not wise He’s not the light in darkened skies He’s just a man who craves control And they’ve handed him their very soul I’ve watched him break what made us strong The laws, the trust, the sense of wrong When it all comes down someday or night I’ll still be standing on the side that’s right
