Written On the Wind
When life leaves me feeling all alone
and abandoned to my thoughts;
I listen to the leaves rustling in the trees
chatting with each passing breeze,
discussing what's written on the wind.
Inscribed with invisible inks,
hopes, dreams, loves won, loves lost,
and all of life's secrets and frustrations are aired.
Subliminal notes remind my heart and soul
that I'm alive: and conscious of my surroundings;
the author of my destiny.
In reality, nothing is preordained,
Life's a blank page in an empty book
awaiting free will to fill in the lines
that time drafted from a plethora of notes;
found pinned to the wind.
My silent screams, and my screams of joy
are temporarily written on the wind.
And when my life ends:
Death will erase all, but the wind.
