Written From a Poetic Heart's True Renderings

Written From A Poetic Heart's True Renderings Riding into oblivion's clouds wearing rags, willfully blind shrouds O'lord, such epic darkness burns giving more hideous returns, weeping songs, chaotic notes as swollen drowned bodies float rectitude of a ghostly dirge, fruits of mankind's constant urge. Hovering over bloody fields, sad reaping of horrific yields with innocence ruthlessly slain winds of death, sorrows and pain, bitter dregs of rot and decay from evil's darkness, holding sway. Robert J. Lindley, 7-22-2020 Sonnet (Dark), ( Born from reading a poet's very fine verse ) “Written in the Time of Something”..... With my sincere and deep thanks given...

Very expressive work. I feel like it is speaking about a battlefield of WWII. Thanks for the visits to my page. I appreciate the time spend reading. Sara

Thank you my friend. When reading another poet's work and verses come to me--I consider that a gift and I feel that I must then write what was given. This poem was born that way. Lady Labyrinth's poem, titled, “Written in the Time of Something” sent verses to me and this was the resulting piece from that gift.. God bless....

Superb write, my friend, with passionate intent and experience, crimped with the darker yearnings that often reach the places light can not, but places that need a brightening as well. This is rife with wondrous word-use and the flow is seamless and fluid. Excellent stuff - much to celebrate here, and going into my faves. Love it! :-)

Thank you my friend. Man can not truly appreciate the Light unless he sees and understands the dark. The golden poets of old knew that truth and a great many of them wrote truly superb dark poetry. And did so as a gift , as a teaching to those that may not see. I do so truly appreciate your kind words and especially so the fav.... God bless...

Thanks my friend. I am delighted that this one gave such a positive understanding to you about how necessary it is to see the dark in order to truly appreciate the the Light, the Truth, the evils this world forces humanity to live through. God bless..

I am in absolute awe of your talent Lindley. This is high shelf writing, all of your work is delivered from heart and soul, without no dark, there is no light. You are an inspiration for writers that truly see the gift you possess. Leanne

Thank you my dear friend. I can only hope that my poetic offerings truly help others and are known to be given in that vein of thought. Especially so, as they are primarily cast to those of youth that have not yet learned of the darkness, great temptations, and tragedy of the evils of this too oft savage world. Thanks for the much appreciated inspiration given unto me by your wonderful poem... God bless..

Darkness manifest with sorrows of the heart. A stroll through nature’s forest or a walk by the seashore would raise a dark mood into a bright mood my friend. Blessings xxoo

Thank you my dear friend. So true, we oft can use beauty and the calm it brings to defeat sorrow, darkness and the ever present evil in this too oft savage and unmerciful world. God bless...
